
Jennifer has always wanted to achieve the status of a multi-tasking superstar. She was an avid fan of various styles of music when she was a child, and particularly Afro-Caribbean rhythms such as salsa, merengue, and bachata. Later on, as an adult her top genres were mainstream pop-hop, R&B, and hip-hop. Although she loved music, the film industry also interested her. Her biggest influence was the Rita Moreno musical, West Side Story (1961). At 5, Jennifer began taking singing and dancing lessons. Aside from being a budding entertainer, Jennifer became a Catholic schoolgirlwho attended eight years of the Catholic elementary school known as Holy Family which was located in The Bronx, before graduating at an all-girls pre-school, Preston High School after an entire four years. Jennifer was a star athlete at school and competed in the track and field, tennis and volleyball. In Castle Hill, she spent her youth in a 2 story home. Jennifer left home when she was 18 and moved in with her family. Lopez began working at an attorney firm in the morning and picked dancing jobs in the evening.
